Talking about the Students Studying in Japan and China's Modernization

The opium wars (especially after the Sino-Japan war of 1894-1895) opened the door of China's to learn from abroad, and China's intellectuals intended to find the backward means being beaten. They went all out to look for ways for saving the country. Then, in this special time, lots of students studying abroad appeared, especially students studying in Japan. They left indelible mark for China's modernization. This paper attempts to make its discussion from three aspects below: the background of students studying in Japan and history general situation, the reasons of the appearance of many students studying in Japan,and these students' contribution and effect in the process of China's modernization.
