Abstract

Objective To explore the change of micro-current and the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor( EGFR) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues, and to investigate the significance of micro-current and EGFR for the differentiation of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods The micro-current detector and immunohistochemistry were used to detect micro-current and EGFR level in 37 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues and 15 cases of nasopharyngeal mucosae with chronic inflammation. Results The positive rates of micro-current and EGFR in nasopharyngeal carcinomas group were 70. 3% and 13. 3%,respectively,which were higher than those in nasopharyngeal mucosae with chronic inflammation group( P 0. 05). The positive rate of EGFR in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients with lymphatic metastasis was significantly higher than that without metastasis( P 0. 05). Conclusion The detection of micro-current contributes to the verification of the nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues and non-nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues. Micro-current and EGFR don't correlate with the differentiation of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
