Comparison of therapeutic effects of micro-surgery versus traditional surgery on strabismus

Objective To compare the therapeutic effects of micro-surgery versus traditional surgery on strabismus.Methods Retrospectively reviewed 92 strabismus patients.Subjects were divided into observation group and control group according to the treatment modalities they received.Results The amount of intraoperative bleeding in observation group was significantly smaller than control group(P 0.05).The incidence of intraoperative and postoperative complications in observation group was significantly lower than control group(P 0.05).There was no difference in operation time,eye position,and three level visual function recovery rate between the two groups(P 0.05).Conclusion Microsurgery as strabismus treatment is safer,produces smaller wound and less bleeding during operation,and results in less complications.It provides better overall outcome without extend operation time.
