Construction and prospect of water-saving ecological irrigation district

The construction of water-saving ecological irrigation district is vital for China's food and water resources security. The water ecological civilization was introduced into the construction of the irrigation district,regarded as a quaternity-integrated system of natural-social-economical-artificial . Based on the concept of water-saving ecological irrigation district,the construction of engineering,technology,ecosystem,management and culture of the irrigation district were analyzed,as well as the evaluation indicators system. Meanwhile,some main problems existing in the construction of water-saving ecological irrigation district were pointed out,such as the unreasonable allocation of land and water resources, the unsolved mechanism for the ecological problems,the incomplete water-saving irrigation service system and the failure to achieve scientific production. Some issues which need future study were pointed out in irrigation district construction as well as the development direction for intelligent irrigation district.
