A Review of the Policy to Overseas Chinese in the Early Period of Qing Dynasty

In order to meet the need of political and military affairs,Qing government adopted unfriendly attitude toward the overseas Chinese and prohibited its subjects to go abroad freely in its early and middle period.It meant that Qing took the overseas Chinese as abandoned people or traitors,which brought many obstacles to Qing itself in the 19th century.
