Abstract

Objective:To find a better method and operative opportunity to treat traumatic optic nearopathy. Methods: Five cases were treated by transnasal endoscopic sphenoethmoidal optic canal decompression in clinic. Results: Three of them had their visual acuity improved from NLP, LP to 0.2~0.4 after the operation. the operative opportunity, merits of operative approaches, the key factors of treatment were discussed. Conclusion:Transnasal endoscopic sphenoethmoidal optic canal decompression is a good method for treatment of pst-traumatic optic neuropathy. optic canal decompression should be done as earlier as possible after optic nerve trauma.
