The Analysis of Skinfold Thickness and Body Composition in Yulin Teachers' College

The skinfold thickness measurement has been undertaken among 793 college students of Yulin Teacher's College in 2005 national students' health constitution investigation,the result of which reveals that the subcutaneous fat beneath brachial triceps muscle is thinner than that beneath the low shoulder blade as for male,while females have a similar thickness in this comparison.Female's body fat is more than that of male thus males seem to be thinner but heavier.The skinfold thickness is closely related to sexual diversity but has little relevance with urban and rural diversities.Owing to some of the objective factors,there is no comparability between the skinfold thickness of students in Yulin Teacher's College and the present Skinfold Thickness Table of Chinese College Students.The thesis finally proposes that a Skinfold Thickness Table suitable for college students in South China should be designed and put into use as soon as possible.
