Abstract

Objective:To study the changes and significance of TGF-β1 in experimental hepatic fibrosis. Methods: Liver fibrosis in SD rats is induced by subcutaneous injection of 40%CC14 in peanut oil.Five rats are sacrificed each time 3,5,7,9,13 weeks after administration of CC14 and 1iver tissues are taken for pathological examination, and five norma1 rats are sacrificed as control each time.Expression of TGF-β1 protein is measured by immunohistochemistry.Result: In the process of the hepatic fibrosis induced by CC14 in rat,the expression of TGF-β1 is elevated from the early stage significantly, and more expression of TGF-β1 is observed in the late stage. Conclusion: The expression of TGF-β1 is correlated with the process of hepatic fibrosis positively.
