Abstract

The Chinese character 外, meaning outside, is a common word expressing position, but it has a special meaning in the Chi poetry of the Song Dynasty. When it is collocated with other words , in a Song Chi poem, it gives the poem a lot of meanings, leading you in one way or another to a colorful world of the Song Chi poetry. This world of the Song Chi poetry is richly overlapping, perspective, and picturesque. Universally speaking, it is an expression and extension of the spiritual world of the people in the Song Dynasty.
