Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of baicalin on the proliferative and expression of IL-8 in HaCaT keratinocytes. Methods: Human keratinocyte cell line(HaCaT cells) was incubated in vitro.MTT method was used to estimate the proliferative of HaCaT keratinocytes after treatment of baicalin in different concentration.Real-time PCR for the IL-8 mRNA levels and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) for the IL-8 protein were performed to determine if baicalin can decrease the IL-8 expression levels. Results: The decease of proliferation was observed in HaCaT cells with baicalin in a dosage of 100μg/mL.The mRNA and protein levels by baicalin were decrease in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion: This study indicates that baicalin can inhibit proliferate of HaCaT keratinocytes and the mRNA and protein levels of IL-8,which might play a part role in paoriatic therapies.
