Clinical research for using Mammotome system in diagnosis and treatment of breast lesions

Objective:To investigate the Clinical value of using ultrasound-guided Mammotome system in diagnosis and treatment of breast lesions,analyse the cause for complications and study the control strategy.Methods:From May 2007 to June 2010,677 breast lesions of 198 patients were suffered from using ultrasound-guided Mammotome system,their clinical data were retrospective studied to assess the value in diagnosis and treatment of breast lesions,analyse the dispose and prevention of complications,and summed up the experience.Results:breast lesions of 2 cases were not completely removed,the removal success rate was 99.0%.The pathologic results showed benign breast lesions were 655(98.2%),and malignant breast lesions were 12(1.8%),10 cases underwent the surgical treatments.The postoperative complications:subcutaneous hematoma in 14 cases(7.1%),partial residual lesions in 1 case(0.5%),local hematoma in 2 case(1.0%).Severer complications like infection、pneumothorax and skin damage were not found.Conclusion:Excision of breast lesions using ultrasound-guided Mammotome system is safety、effectively、satisfactory cosmetic effect,and fewer postoperative complications to deal with easily.It is worth popularizing in the clinical.
