Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of hemoperfusion on inflammation and malnutrition in maintenance hemodialysis patients.Methods:Seventy-six patients with CRF were randomly divided into hemoperfusion combined with hemodialysis group(HD+HP,n=24)and hemodialysis group(HD,n=22),normal control group consisted of 16 healthy people.The serum C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-6,TNF-α,albumin,transferrin(TRF),creatinine,and hemoglobin were measured before and 3 months after the treatments.Modified quantity subject global analysis(MQSGA)was used to access the nutritional status in these patients.Results:The serum CRP,IL-6 and TNF-α levels in both treatment groups were significantly higher than those in control groupand malnutrition was common in hemodialysis patients;there were no significant differences in the levels of microinflammatory factors and the incidence of malnutrition between two treated groups before treatment(P0.05).The levels of CRP,IL-6 and TNF-α were significantly decreased in HD+HP group.The incidence of malnutrition and the level of MQSGA were markedly decreased(P0.01),while there was no difference in HD group after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion:Malnutrition and inflammation exist in maintenance hemodialysis patients;HP is an effective method to remove increased inflammatory factors,combined with hemodialysis can improve the nutritional status and decrease the incidence of malnutrition,which may be benefit to the living quality and prolong their life span.
