Abstract
Grid is a new system of distributed computing and cooperative work. By introducing grid concept, characteristics and its functions, has expounded the grid architecture, include: grid resource level, grid middleware level, grid interface level and grid application level. And then discussed key technologies of the grid, the five levels hourglass model architecture, the basic function of grid operating system and technique of secure authentication was analyzed in detail.Discussed application fields of grid, and pointed out that grid will become the network computing model of the new generation.
