Marx's Theory of Social Development and its Contemporary Value

Marx's theory of social development argues that the development of productivity constitutes the fundamental content of social development.It is superior to other theories about social development in that it emphasizes the main value of social development,which is the key for Marxism's truth.Even today,this theory can offer true theoretical and methodological guidance for solving the problems of developing socialism with Chinese characteristics.The concept of scientific development is developed by the new generation of CPC central leadership collectively.It is developed from reality to meet the needs of modernization,trying to grasp the objective law of development and drawing on the useful achievements of mankind.It is based on the achievements made by China since the beginning of reform and opening up,putting special emphasis on enriching the meaning of innovative development,broadening the thinking on development and solving development problems.Marx's theory of social development is distinctly directed at man's all-round development,trying to achieve a benign interaction between man and nature,stressing on coordinated development between economy and society.In this sense,the concept of scientific development is in line with Marx's idea of the future society,with the latter as a primary source of the former and the former as the latter's successor and important development.
