Abstract

Objective:To observe the effect of Shengmai powder in the treatment of Qi and Yin deficiency of hyperthyroidism. Methods:A total of 90 patients with thyroid hyperfunction were randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group(50 patients)adopted Shengmai powder. Control group's 40 cases were treated by western medicine thiazole treatment. Two groups' course was 3 months. The changes of the main symptoms,signs and laboratory examination were observed. Results:The treatment group's effective rate was 92% and the control group's effectiveness was 87.5% and there was no significant difference(P0.05). But the treatment group in improving the swollen thyroid function and exophthalmos was better than that the control group. Conclusion:Shengmai powder in the treatment of hyperthyroidism has satisfactory curative effect. The combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment of hyperthyroidism can complement each other.
