Abstract
By mycelia inoculation at seedling stage and mycelia-borne stick cultivar Xiangyou 15 showed the high resistance to stem rot (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum). The phenolic contents and chitinase activity increased rapidly, and maintained for a long time when the plants were infected. The progeny from the crosses of Xingyou 15 with the susceptible rapeseed variety 98C40 or moderately-resistant variety Zhongyou 821 showed midparent resistance or tendency to the resistant parent.
