Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate clinical efficacy of endoscopic sinus surgery in treatment of sinusitis and nasal polyps and analyze the influencing factors of prognosis. METHODS 180 patients with sinusitis and nasal polyps were chosen in the period from September 2008 to June 2012 in our hospital and randomly divided into two groups including control group (90 patients) with non-surgical treatment including drugs, laser and microwave and endoscopic sinus surgery group (90 patients) with endoscopic sinus surgery; the clinical cure rate and clinical total improving efficiency of both groups were compared. RESULTS The clinical cure rate of control group and endoscopic sinus surgery group were separately 12.2%, 26.7%; The clinical total improving efficiency of control group and endoscopic sinus surgery group were separately 67.8%, 91.1%. The clinical cure rate and clinical total improving efficiency of endoscopic sinus surgery group were significantly better than control group (P﹤ 0.05). CONCLUSION Compared with non-surgical treatment, endoscopic sinus surgery in treatment of sinusitis and nasal polyps can efficiently improve the therapeutic effects; and efficiency is closed related with typing, surgery operating proficiency and postoperative drug application.
