Abstract
High density polyethylene was flame retarded with single molecular intumescent flame retardant melamine salt of pentaerythritol phosphate(MPPL) and mixed intumescent system melamine phosphate(MP)/pentaerythritol(PEL),and the corresponding performances of flame retandant materials were compared.It was showed that the single molecular system had better flame retardance,mechanical properties and water-resistance.The mechanisms causing the difference in flame retardance for the two materials were analyzed by thermogravimeric test and char morphology analysis.
