Abstract

The Soviet novels in the 1970s-80s are characterized by novelty, extensiveness and multi-dimensionality in terms of their artistic structures. The artistic structures fall roughly into two patterns: one is the establishment of a grand system of novel structures in which are unfolded various stories of diverse time and space while the exquisite integration between the realistic narration and the psychological narration in the novels contributes to the constitution of the composite narrative structure of novels;the other is the multi-dimensionality of the novel structures, which aids in enlarging the capacity of novels, enhancing the aesthetic feeling in their structure and the appeal in their plots, making the novels more philosophical and psychology-oriented so as to exhibit the superb artistic effect of the novels.
