Relation Between Helicobacter Pylori Infection and Risk Factors of Coronary Heart Disease

Objective To investigate the relation of Helicobacter pylori(HP)infection and coronary heart disease(CHD)and the effects on lipid metabolism,endothelin dysfunction and serum immunology.Methods HPIgG,interleukin-6(ELISA)and endothelin-1(RIA)and total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),apolipoproˉtein A(ApoA),apolipoprotein B(ApoB),high density lipoprotein(HDL),low density lipoprotein(LDL)were meaˉsured in101cases of CHD,with53healthy subjects as controls,their CHD risk factors were studied.HPIgG(ELISA)were measured in total101cases of CHD and53healthy subjects.Results(1)The rate of seropositive for HPIgG in CHD patients is significantly higher than that of controls(45.54%vs28.30%,P0.05).(2)For the cases of CHD,the level of plasma endothelin-1in these of HPIgG seropositivity is higher than that of HP seronegˉativity(P0.05).(3)No correlation between chronic HP infection and essential hypertension,diabetes mellitus,toˉbacco use,age,gender,alcohol consumption and family history was found.Conclusions Chronic HP infection may be associated with CHD.Chronic HP infection may change endothelin function contributing to the pathogenesis of CHD.
