Abstract

Objective To investigate the management and methods of intraocular lens(IOL) implantation for posterior capsule rupture during phacoemulsification. Methods During phacoemulsification with topical anesthesia, posterior capsule rupture took place in 30 cases(30 eyes). With in time finding, use of viscoelastics and anterior vitrectomy, posterior IOLs were implanted in all eyes. Results IOLs were implanted into the capsule bag in 10 eyes,in the scleral sulcus in 16 eyes, scleral sulcus fixing in 4 eyes.4 weeks after surgery, visual acuity was better than 0.5 in 20 eyes(66.67%),0.3-0.5 in 6 eyes(20.00%),0.05-0.2 in 4 eyes(13.33%).Conclusion During phacoemulsification,if posterior capsule rupture appeared,in time finding and suitable management can make IOL implantation safely and visual acuity recover is well.
