Abstract

CO2welding with different welding current was applied to Q345 steel plate( δ = 4 mm) for continuous welding and pulse welding test. The appearance,HAZ size, microstructure and microhardness of welded joint were analyzed and compared in this paper. The results show that the weld of continuous welding is thicker than pulse welding. Pulse welding causes less HAZ dimensions comparing with continuous welding. The welded joint structure forms more evenly and obtaining less widmanstatten structure by pulse welding comparing with that one. Under two welding procedure, both of microhardness peak value of welded joints are located within overheated zone. Macrohardness of each welded joint part acquired by continuous welding method is slightly higher than that of pulse welding.
