Analysis of the articles published in journal of Xi'an Polytechnic University from 1999 to 2008

By using the method of bibliometrics,articles published in Journals of Xi′an Polytechnic University from 1999 to 2008 are summarized and analyzed.This paper reflects current situation of the development of the Journal from the quantity of articles,subjects,authors and citations,after which further proposes suggestions upon improvement of Journal′s quality,nurture of the authors,etc.In 10 years,1 337 papers have been published in the jouranl,and each paper covers 4.21 pages on average;307 papers are foundation items for papers and account for 22.96%,average provincial foundation items is 18.85%;The collaboration rate is 74.24% and the collaboration degree is 2.34;45.92% authors are professors,14.98% authors are less than 30 years old,40.30% authors are at the age between 31 and 40 and 35.02% authors are at the age between 41 and 50,the first authors of 925 papers are in Xi'an Polytechnic University,account for 69.18%;For each article,the average reference number is 5.32,in which 76.79% are written in Chinese,and 53.74% are cited from journals,which indicates that the journal is of a high-level citation.
