Expression of PCAN and RAR-α in hepatocellular carcinoma

Abstract

Objective A study of relationship between the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen and retinoic acid receptor α in hepatocellular carcinoma .Methods Forty-four cases of HCCs were studied immunohistochemically by using monoclonal antibodies PCNA and RAR-α.Results We studied correlation between PCNA and RAR-α in HCCs and evaluated of the proliferation of HCCs.PCNA positive rate of HCCs was 34.8%,RAR-α positive rate of HCCs was 36.4%.The lower the differentiation of HCCs,the higher the RAR-α and PCNA positive rate.We also demonstrated a direct correlation between RAR-α staining and PCNA staining in HCCs(r=0.88,P0.05)RAR-α and PCNA expression levels might be of practical use on the evaluation of proliferation of HCCs.Concluion RAR-α and PCNA can evaculate the proliferating of HCC.
