Abstract
Polysemy is a common phenomenon in the vocabulary of a language.Metaphor and Metonymy are two major types of semantic extension.Semantic extensions of go from a motion verb to a future marker and to a quotative verb have their inherent process and the motivation,which reflect metaphorical way and metonymic types of human's cognitive thinking.
