Abstract
Objective To explore the expression of hypoxia inducible factor-1 alpha(HIF-1α)in endometrial carcinoma tissue and its clinical significance. Methods Expression of HIF-1αwas determined immunohistochemically in 21 people with normal endometrium,29 patients with atypical hyperplasia and 44 patients with endometrial carcinoma.Analyzed the relationship between expression of HIF-1α and the clinical and pathological feature of endometrial cancer. Results The ratio of HIF-1α expressions in atypical endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial carcinoma were obviously higher than that in normal endometrium(P0.05).The ratio of HIF-1α expression was related to the endometrial carcinoma clinical stage(P0.05),but the pathological grade, muscular layer infiltration and lymph node metastasis had no obvious correlation with the expression of HIF-1α(P0.05).The expression of HIF-1α was positive correlated with estrogen receptor(ER)in endometrial carcinoma(P0.05).Conclusion The expression of HIF-1α may play an important role in the occurrence and development of endometrial carcinoma. The expression of HIF-1α is correlated with ER in endometrial carcinoma.
