Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical experiences of opening total extraperitoneal heniorrhaphy repair of inguinal hernia for inguinal hernia. Methods 80 opening total extraperitoneal heniorrhaphy repair of inguinal hernia were performed on 80 patients with inguinal hernia. To statistics the operation time, admission day,the average time to resume normal activities and the recent/long-term operative complications and postoperative discomfort Results The operations were completed successful. The means of the operation lasting was 42 minutes. The means of the hospital stay was 4.1 days. The average time to resume normal activities was 6.2 days.In the present series, there was 1 case of urinary retention(1.25%),1 case of postoperative pain(1.25%),2 cases of serum swelling(2.5%),the well obserbded after two months,no scrotal edema, wound infection, sensory abnormalities or ischemic testitis were found. The patients were followed up for 2 to 3 years, with no case of recurrence encountered. Conclusion Opening total extraperitoneal heniorrhaphy repair can significantly reduce the complications and the incidence of postoperative discomfort, being more effective, and worth while clinical use.
