Comment on the Studies of the Modernization of Fujian Opera in the New Period

Since the new period,Fujian Province has made great achievements in its opera creation,and has taken the lead in its opera modernization explorations.The paper gives a theoretical analysis of the gains and losses in Fujian opera creation and,by considering the characteristics of the era then,raises some related issues.During the 20 years before the end of the 20th century,Fujian opera circle explored the modernization of its opera in the following three main aspects: opera creation should reflect modern ideas;opera artistic forms ought be traditional and innovative;modern opera needs to be dramatized.All this gives precious experience and enlightenment for the development of Fujian opera and other operas in China.
