Comprehensive Evaluation of Potential of Rural Residential Area Consolidation—A Case of Macun County

[Objective]The aim was to evaluate the realistic potential of rural residential area consolidation effectively so as to provide the basis for the rural residential area consolidation work smoothly. [Method]The theoretical potential of rural residential area consolidation was calculated by using per capita construction land use standard method; a comprehensive evaluation index system was established by the indexes relating to natural,social and economy to revise the theoretical potential,so as to calculate the realistic potential of rural residential area consolidation.[Result]The results showed that the theoretical potential of rural residential area consolidation was 434.09 hm2,the realistic potential of rural residential area consolidation was 211. 48 hm2,the coefficient of increasing cultivated land was 13.29%; according to the coefficient of increasing cultivated land by rural residential area consolidation,Macun County was divided into three levels of potential area. [Conclusion]The fund and households' willingness has significant effects on the release of rural residential area consolidation potential,and key areas of rural residential area consolidation in Macun County should be arranged based on realistic potential so as to obtain a higher consolidation efficiency.
