An Analysis of Rural Residential Land Consolidation Potential in Liangping County,Chongqing

Consolidation of rural residential land use is an important measure to reduce contradiction in rural land use and achieve balance of arable land.In view of relatively high residential land area per capita and unused households,combined with the regional per capita residential space and urban system planning standards,this paper estimates the theoretical potential of the consolidation of rural residential land in Liangping County and gives a quantitative appraisal of its real potential by using AHP method.The results show that theoretical potential of rural residential consolidation is 9074.45 hectares and real potential is 2439.34 hectares,indicating a huge potential of the county.Finally,by grading the real potential of rural residential land consolidation,the paper divides the consolidation areas into three sections,from low ratio to high ratio,so as to provide reference for the policy making of the county in planning the consolidation of rural residential development.
