Abstract

Twenty-four selected superior trees of Camellia oleifera Abel.were studied and compared in terms of the fatty acid composition measured by gas chromatogram. The results showed that the fatty acids in Camellia oleifera Abel.were mainly composed of oleic acid, linoleic acid, palmitic acid and stearic acid.An extremely negative correlation was observed between the contents of oleic and linoleic acid, while the total contents of unsaturated fatty acids were relatively stable among the selected superior trees.
