Clinical observation of ketotifen combined with Suhuang cough relieve capsule in the treatment of cough post infection

Objective To investigate the effect of ketotifen and Suhuang cough relieve capsule in the treatment of cough post infection. Methods A total of 80 patients with cough post infection were randomly divided into control group and treatment group, and each group contained 40 cases, The control group was treated by ketotifen(1 mg, b.i.d.) and the treatment group treated by Suhuang cough relieve capsule(3, t.i.d.) and ketotifen(1 mg, b.i.d.). Cough relief effects were evaluated after 7 d by cough symptom score. Results The cough score of treatment group and control group before treatment were(5.4±1.9) points and(5.5±1.4) points, and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P0.05). The cough score after treatment were(1.3±0.9) points and(3.2±0.6) points, and the difference was statistically significant(P0.01). The effective rate was 92.5% in the treatment group, which was higher than 45.0% in the control group. The difference had statistical significance(P0.01). ConclusionSuhuang cough relieve capsule combined with ketotifen have obvious effect in treating cough post infection.
