Abstract

A study was conducted on the restoring gene( Rf4 )of C cytoplasmic male sterility in maize by means of field fertility determination and RFLP molecular marker.Feild fertility results show that there were two pairs of overlapping restoring genes of C cytoplasmic male sterility in maize.Using the method of near isogenic line A192 and the BC 1 segregating population of (CMS C237×A619) restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP),the restoring gene Rf4 for C cytoplasmic male sterility was localized in chromosome 8 S,linking to two RFLP markers loci.npi220 and csu29.
