Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship of urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER) with high sensitive C-reactive protien(hs-CRP),uric acid(UA) in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM). Methods According to the level of UAER,94 elderly patients with T2DM were divided into three groups:nomal albuminuria group(A group),microalbuminuria group(B group) and macroalbuminuria group(C group). The levels of hs-CRP,UA and related clinical biochemical index, such as blood pressure(BP), plasma glucose, blood lipid and so on were detected and compared. Results The levels of hs-CRP,UA in group B and group C were significantly higher than those in group A, and signifcant difference was also found between group B and group C(P0.05 or P0.01). There was signifcant difference in average age, course of disease,BP,FPG,HbA1c,TC,TG and HDL-C among three groups (P0.05 or P0.01). Linear correlation showed that UAER level in T2DM patients was positively related to hs-CRP(r=0.331, P0.01) and UA (r=0.254,P0.05). Conclusions Increased level of hs-CRP and UA is correlated with the morbidity of diabetic nephropathy.UA and hs-CRP may play an important role in prediction of diabetic nephropathy.
