The Peony Pavilion as a product of integration of different forms of art

The legendary play The Peony Pavilion was written by Tang Xianzu according to the previous notes and versions of the same story.The play owns its performance in Kunqu opera to Ye Tang's reform to Yihuang tune.So it can be concluded that The Peony Pavilion is the product of integration of literature and traditional operas.The present performance of different versions of The Peony Pavilion indicates that the integration is still going on,which is the only way to ensure the spread and prosperity of Kunqu opera represented by this play.
