Abstract

Objective To evaluate the five basic facets of fetal heart scanning method can improve the sensitivity of fetal co ngenital heart disease. Methods The five basic facets of fetal heart scanning method was used in prenatal screening for congenital heart diseases in 6621 pregnant women prospectively. Results 14 cases of fetal congenital heart disease were diagnosed by fetal echocardiography, the diagnosis was confirmed by fetal autopsy and postnatal echocardiography. Its diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values were92.3%,99.9%,99.9%,92.8% and 99.9% respectively. Conclusion The five basic facets of fetal heart scanning method is an effective method of prenatal screening for fetal congenital heart diseases.
