Abstract

Objectives To study the treatment patterns of heroin drug users while they were treated in methadone maintenance treatment(MMT) clinics.Methods A cohort study was adopted,1123 heroin users treated in 21 MMT clinics in Guangxi Autonomous Region were followed up from March 2009 to February 2010.Results 87.9 %、74.5 %、63.2 % and 54.3 % of patients,respectively had been continuously missing methadone treatment for 3,7,15 and 30 days.Conclusions Missing treatment for some days is common among heroin drug users treated in MMT clinics.
