STUDY ON THE MISSING TREATMENT AMONG HEROIN DRUG USERS TREATED IN METHADONE MAINTENANCE TREATMENT CLINICS

Abstract

Objective:To understand the treatment patterns of heroin drug users while they were treated in methadone maintenance treatment(MMT)clinics.Methods:A cohort study was adopted,1003 heroin users treated in 8 MMT clinics in Guizhou province were followed up from June,2006 to June 2007.Results:87.1%,74.9%,60.6% and 50.3% patients,respectively had been continuously missing methadone treatment for 3,7,15 and 30 days.Conclusion:Missing treatment for some days is common among heroin drug users treated in MMT clinics.
