Abstract

In order to improve the performance and the management of a local network, the technology of virtual local network (VLAN) is introduced. In a VLAN, the broadcast containment can be divided into several sub domains, thus the broadcast traffic can be effectively controlled. The technology and implementation of VLAN with CISCO switches 2948 are introduced.
