Treatment of Severe Pregnancy Induced Hypertension with Labetalol:A report of 30 cases

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of Labetalol in the treatment of severe pregnancy induced hypertension.Methods A total of 90 severe pregnancy induced hypertension patients were randomly divided into Labetalol treatment group,control group and Nifepine treatment group.The efficacy and safety were compared among the three groups.Results The efficacy of Labetalol group was significantly better than those in the control group and Nifepine group(P0.05).Conclusion The anti-hypertension by Labetalol is satisfactory,long standing,stable and less of side-effects.It is highly effective and safe in the treatment of severe pregnancy induced hypertension.
