Abstract
Concepts and characteristics of virtual prototyping technology are introduced,parametric design and virtual assembly of reducer are actualized with CAXA entities design software,and its motion simulation is achieved in ADAMS which is automatic dynamic analysis of mechanical systems,simulation results with the theoretical calculated values are coincident.It proves that virtual prototype model is reliable and the simulation result is credible.Applications of virtual prototyping technology greatly shorten the design cycle of reducer and reduce the cost of product,which provides an efficient way for the design of reducer.
