Abstract
Three-phase unbalanced voltages have great effects on the performance of an induction motor. The actual-variable transient model for the three-phase induction motor is established. The effects of unbalanced voltages on the performances are studied based on this model and the concept of the complex voltage unbalance factor(CVUF). The starting transient process under different CUVF. is calculated by the simulation model. The curves of the peak torque, the starling time, the steady-state current unbalance factor, the speed variation, and the torque variation are given. Some conclusions related to the performances of the induction motor fed by unbalanced voltages are obtained.
