Abstract

A method by increasing the depth of piezoelectric ceramic in the longitudinal vibration is proposed to increase the longitudinal vibration's amplitude and to make the frequencies of longitudinal and torisonal vibration much closer. Two composite USMs with different depth of longitudinal vibration PZT were designed. The experimental tests and analysis have shown that the design method is simple and effective.
