Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of Mangankang on the treatment of chronic hepatitis B.Methods 76 patients with chronic hepatitis B were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group. In treatment group patients (n=44) were treated by combination of Mangankang and routine liver protective drugs. In control group (n=32) patients were treated by combination of routine liver protective drugs and mieaoling and vitamin. The items of ALT, AST, A/G, TBil, HBeAg and HBV-DNA (PCR method) were assayed respectively pre- and post-treatment in both groups. Results The treatment group could improve the clinical symptoms of patients, decreases significantly serum ALT, AST, A/G, TBil and increases serum Alb, differentiation is very obvious (P0.05 or P0.01) comparing the control group. Conclusion Mangankang could improve the symptoms of patients with chronic hepatitis B and regulate the liver's metabolic function.
