Abstract
Objective:To investigate the clinical value of multi-slice spiral CT(MSCT) in acute aortic syndrome(AAS).Methods:Fifty-nine patients who complained of acute pain in the chest and back were scanned by 16-slice spiral CT.Results:Fifty-nine cases included 40 cases of aortic dissection(AD),11 cases of intramural hematoma(IMH) and 8 cases of penetrating atherosclerotic ulcer(PAU).MSCT could display the imaging features of AAS as follows:the intimal flap, true and false lumens in AD;crescent of circular thickening of aortic wall in IMH;a niche filling with contrast medium and protruding the aortic lumen in PAU.Conclusion:MSCT is a fast and noninvasive examination technique, and it can provide important information for the diagnosis of AAS.
