Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical applied value of multi-slice spiral CT(MSCT) in acute aortic syndrome(AAS).Methods Sixty-two patients who complained of acute pain in the chest and back were scanned by 16-slice spiral CT. Results Sixty-two cases included 41 cases of aortic dissection(AD),12 cases of intramural hematoma(IMH) and 9 cases of penetrating atherosclerotic ulcer(PAU). MSCT could depict the imaging features of AAS as follows:the intimal flap, true and false lumens in AD;crescent or circular thickening of aortic wall in IMH; a niche filling with contrast medium and protruding the aortic lumen. Conclusion MSCT is a fast and noninvasive examination technique,it can provide important information for the diagnosis of AAS.
