Abstract

Using p-nitrobenzaldehyde, 4-chlorobenzaldehyde, 4-methoxybenzaldehyde, 2, 4-dichlorob-enzaldehyde, methyl benzoate and hydrazine hydrate as materials, four compounds of benzoyl hydrazone were synthesized in lab and their chemical structures were confirmed by elemental analysis and the infrared spectrum. Insecticidal activities of four componds were tested against Pieris rapae larvae. The results showed that 2, 4-dichlorobenzaldehyde benzoyl hydrazone had the strongest activity.
