Synthesis and Bioactivities of Furfural Benzoyl Hydrazone

Abstract

Furfural benzoyl hydrazone was synthesized using furfural,methyl benzoate and hydrazine hydrate as and its chemical structure was confirmed by elemental analysis and infrared spectrum.The bioactivities of furfural benzoyl hydrazone against Pieris rapae larvae was also tested in lab.The results showed that furfural benzoyl hydrazone had strong contact toxicity,stomach toxicity and weak antifeeding activity.
