Neo-Humanism and Wen Yiduo’s Rhythm of Poems

Abstract

There exists scant exploration on the theoretical background of the composition of Wen Yi-duo’s Rhythm of Poems. It is generally believed that early composition of new poems lacked variety in form, which is the cause of form change. This article points out that Chinese modern rhymed poem school derived theoretically from neo-humanism put forward by Bai Bi-de. However, in the development of poetic history, Rhythm of Poems is the representation of classical thoughts.
