Abstract
Wang Wei hesitated in the fierce political struggle in his later years by neither daring to have a clear-cut stand nor associating with evil people nor living in seclusion.Scholars today say WANG Wei was living as both an official and a hermit.Living as both an official and a hermit was more a kind of psychological state than a kind of living state.The holiday system afforded WANG Wei favourable conditions to live as both as official and a hermit.
